Our Plans

An integrated transport hub and improved public realm

Solum will be regenerating the station area, providing a new public square and improved pick up and drop off facilities. The new station square will enhance the station as a gateway into Haywards Heath, incorporating public art designed by a local artist and inspired by station users. As part of this, pedestrian and vehicular traffic flows will be improved, transforming the station area into an integrated transport hub.

A new three level car park and footbridge linking the car park and platforms

A new three level car park with capacity for 1087 cars. This is an increase of 487 spaces, making the station more accessible to the traveling public. The car park will be linked by an enclosed footbridge directly to the platforms, shortening journey times and improving the station experience.

A new Waitrose

As part of the project, Waitrose will be coming to Haywards Heath. This will add to the choice of food retail in Haywards Heath, and bring up to 200 jobs to the area. The new Waitrose will also provide its own parking, meaning there is no competition for spaces between shoppers and station users.
